WEEKEND WRAP: Friday/Saturday/Sunday - Features 7 Goals, 2 Assists, 4 Shut Outs

Well, not the output we have seen over the past few weeks, but an eventful weekend nevertheless. Joe Gyau makes an appearance for Dortmund II, Josh Gatt scores his first in nearly 2 years, and Bobby Wood sees red (was that really deserving of a straight red?) Lot's of Pro/Rel stuff going on in Scandinavia (as well as Euro spots). Then on Friday we learned that  Ex Tulsa Roughnecks forward, Kyrian Nwabueze was cut by Ararat in Armenia.

With Americans playing in 16 countries this is quite a bit of reading to do for this weekend wrap, or you can just check out the short list below

Eric Palmer-Brown went 90 for FC Porto B in Portugal's Segunda Liga, as they beat Fafe 4 - 0 in convincing fashion, although Porto B has not lost in 4 games, this is their first win for a while

Fabian Johnson went 88, picked up a yellow, for M'Gladbach and Timothy Chandler went 90 for Frankfurt in a goalless draw in Friday's Bundesliga game

In Ireland's Premier Division, Pat McCann (90) and GK Ciaran Nugent (90) Plus he gets the Shut Out in Sligo Rovers 5 - 0 dismantling of Wexford in the final game of the season. Sligo, who did not start the season to well end up 5th - not to shabby, all things considered

Also in Ireland's Prem. Don Cowan went 90, as Longford fell 2 - 4 to #4 Shamrock Rovers in their last game of the season....One more game to go - a Play-off to survive relegation

SATURDAY

Jerome Kiesewetter (89 + yellow) Justin Kinjo (in 18/DNP) and Dusseldorf traveled to #2 Union Berlin and came away with all the points as they won 0 - 1 in Germany 2Liga. That's 3 wins in a row, and a 3rd spot in the table for Dusseldorf

Romain Gall (90) and Nykopings failed to hold #1 Brommapojkarna at home and fell 0 - 1 in Sweden Division 1 (Norra) Nykopings is going through a rough patch right now, 5 points from their last 5 games

In England's Premier League, Lyndon Gooch came off the bench at minute 84, by which time Sunderland were already down 1 - 4 to Arsenal. I guess a few minutes is better than nothing, but manager David Moyes seems a little lost for ideas right now and his decision to bring in Lyndon at that point seemed desperate

In Denmark Division2 (Group 1) Anton Peterlin (82) and B93 ended their game with Avarta goalless. B93 remain in the 'promotion group' with 20 points, Avarta lead the group.

Also in the promotion group in Denmark are Bronshoj and Jamil Fearrington (90) who beat Fredensborg 3 - 0 to maintain their #3 spot in Denmark's Division 1 (Group 1)

In Germany 3Liga, Shawn Barry (90 + yellow) and FSV Frankfurt made short-work of Paderborn as they won 3 - 0. That's 4 wins in the last 5 games for FSV, as they charge up the table.

In a game filled with American's, Royal Fennell (90) and Hallescher hosted Marc Heider (90 + yellow) Robbie Kristo (90) and Osnabruck with the advantage going to the home team, as Hallescher win's this one 1 - 0. Hallescher are unbeaten in their last 5, and sit tied 3rd, with 2 other teams)

GK Kenneth Kronholm (90) and Kiel visited Munster, and grabbed a point in a 1 - 1 draw in 3Liga

Jann George (88) and Regensburg held on for a 1 - 1 draw at home to Magdeburg, also in 3Liga

Devante Parker (11) came off the bench as Mainz II traveled to Rostock and stole a point in a 1 - 1 draw

GK David Yelldell was replaced at minute 79 (?Injury) and Sonnenhof hung on for a goalless draw against visitors #1 Duisburg in 3Liga

In Junior Bundesliga (Sud/Sudwest) Corey Anton came off the bench at minute 79 as Kaiserslautern U19 hosted Toni Suddoth (57) and Stuttgart U19 and had a comfortable home win 3 - 0 against the visitors

GK Brad Guzan watched Middlesbrough from the bench as they beat Bournemouth 2 - 0 in the English Premier League (Emerson Hyndman was not in Bournemouth's 18, again, today)

Cameron Carter-Vickers was in the 18/DNP for Tottenham as they drew 1 - 1 with Leicester City in the EPL

Tim Ream came off the bench at minute 81 as Fulham thumped Huddersfield 5 - 0 in the English Championship

DeAndre Yedlin (90) was subbed out at 90+5 as Newcastle continued their winning ways (have won last 5) at Preston with a 1 - 2 win. Newcastle are 3 points clear at the top of the table

Danny Williams (90 + yellow) and Reading hosted Eric Lichaj (90) and Nottingham and held their home advantage in a 2 - 0 win. Reading move into the top 6 and Nottingham find themselves hovering above the drop-zone.

Gboly Ariyibi (90) and Chesterfield traveled to Charlton in England's League One, and fell 1 - 0. Chesterfield have now lost 5 straight and find themselves 1 point off the bottom (4 points from safety). They need to regain last years form if they are going to survive

GK Paul Rachubka was in his 'stand-by' position on the bench for Bury, as they lost 3 - 2 at Northampton in League One

Duane Holmes (90) Scored Scunthorpe's 2nd goal (technically the winner) as they find little problem with visiting Swindon in a 4 - 1 win in England League One. Scunthorpe are having a great season, and are 3 points ahead at the top of the League.

GK Brendan Moore (90) and Torquay looked on the way to a win in the first half, up a goal at home. The 2nd half was not good though, a red card and 2 goals by Southport saw the home team fall 1 - 2 in England national League

In a thriller in Scotland's Premier League, Perry Kitchen (90 + yellow) Bjorn Johnsen (76) and Hearts traveled to Inverness and battled to a 3 - 3 draw, with Bjorn Johnsen Scoring Hearts opening goal. Hearts had started the season really well, but have recently hit a rough patch, this game will give them some confidence going forward - they retain 3rd spot (shared with 2 other teams) and are only a point behind #2 Rangers

GK Danny Rogers (90) and Falkirk visited Dundee Utd. in Scotland's Championship, and fell 1 - 0 on an 82nd minute strike. Falkirk are just out-side the promotion play-off group

Peterhead are finally finding their form, with their 3rd straight win. Kevin Dzierzawski went 77 minutes in their 2 - 0 win over Stranraer in Scotland League One.

In Sweden's Superettan, its looking really good for the top two teams, both with Americans, as AFC Utd. win today and move 7 points ahead of Halmstad who have crashed, losing their last 2 games. By my reckoning, AFC United are promoted - they have 1 game left at Halmstad. Sirius has already made the jump(promotion) into the top tier next season. Today GK Josh Wicks (90) gets the Shut Out, Tristan Bowen was in the 18/DNP and AFC united won this one 3 - 0 against Atvidabergs

Hunter Gorskie came off the bench for the final 20 minutes as Legnica traveled to Tychy and won 0 - 2 in Poland's Division 1. Legnica break a 2 game losing streak

GK Justin vom Steeg (90) for Dusseldorf II as they fall 1 - 2 at home to Oberhausen in Regionalliga (West)

Bryan Gaul (90) Matt Taylor (62) and Offenbach fall 2 - 1 at Koblenz in Regionalliga (Sudwest)

Joel Sonora went 90 in Stuttgart II's 2 - 1 loss to Ulm in Regionalliga (Sudwest)

Devann Yao (17) came off the bench as BAK 07 visited Cottbus and won 1 - 2 in Regionalliga (Nordost)

In Oberliga (Bayern Nord) Julian Ceesay went 90 as FC Amberg fell 1 - 3 to DJK Ammerthal

Fabian Hurzeller went 90 as Pipinsried visited Sonthofen in Oberliga (Bayern Sud) and won 1 - 2

Oscar Ortiz went 90 as SC Feucht visited Haibach in Regionalliga (Bayern Nord) and won 0 - 2

GK Bakary Sanyang had a nightmare of a game, giving up 4 goals as Pfeddersheim fall 0 - 4 at home to Wiesbach in Regionalliga (Rheinland-Pfalz/Saar)

Florida native (Gainsville Fl) Piakai Henkel came off the bench at minute 78 in Bahlinger SC 6 - 1 thumping of Neckaretz in Oberliga (Baden-Württemberg)

Shaq Moore went 90 in Levante UD B team as they drew 0 - 0 with Sabadell in Spain's Segunda Division B - (Group 3)

Joe Gyau (1) made a cameo appearance for Dortmund II in Regionalliga (West) Dortmund brought on 2 players in the 90th minute Joe was one of them. Dortmund won this game against Aachen 0 - 1

Aris Briggs Zustra went 90 in a goalless draw as Osnabruck II visited Hannover in Oberliga (Niedersachsen)

In the Bundesliga late game Christian Pulisic went 90 as Dortmund played to a goalless draw with Schalke. That's 3 straight draws, as Dortmund slip down the table Note to team: Must do better

Eric Lickert started for Freiburg II as they fell 1 - 0 at Neckarsulmer in Oberliga (Baden-Württemberg)

Matt Miazga went 90 as Vitesse fell 0 - 2 to PSV in Netherlands Eredivisie. This is Matt's 6th start, 5 League, 1 Cup, since his loan from Chelsea

GK Jeff Gal (90) Stephen Golz (90) and Lidkopings FK won their relegation 2nd leg match against Vanersborg 2 - 1. The aggregate score was 2 - 2 and Lidkopings FK are relegated on the away goals rule. Stephen Golz scored Lidkopings first goal, but the team will be playing in Division 3 next season.

SUNDAY

While you were sleeping, Matthew Wiesenfarth started for Canterbury United in New Zealand's Premier League as they visited Southern United and won 1 -3

GK Daniel Schmidt, who missed last weeks game, is back in the net for Yamaga in Japan League 2 as they visit Yamagata in one of the last games of the season. Things are tight at the top of the table so a win is important, Yamaga ended this one 0 - 1 and move within 3 points of top spot, and draw away from the #3 team by three points. Daniel Schmidt is back and gets a Shut Out for his team

Haji Wright and Weston McKennie both started for Schalke U19 as they traveled to FC Koln in Junior Bundesliga (West) and let one slip away, as they gave up a late goal, with the game ending 1 - 1

Babajide Ogunbiyi (90) and Hobro had a fun day as they visited Vendsyssel in Denmark's 1st Division and came away with a 0 - 4 win. Hobro are now 6 points clear at the top of the league

GK Benjamin Machini was in the 18 for Barakaldo in Spain's Segunda Division B (Group 2) as they went to Mensajero and came away with a point, that moves them into 4th place, and extends their unbeaten run to 5 games

Nermin Crnkic was rocking today as he led Sarajevo over Celik Zenica 4 - 0. Nermin Crnkic Scored 2 goals as the home team had no problem with the last place Zenica

Connor O'Brien (90) and Horsens visited Sonderjyske in Denmark's Superliga and hit a brick wall, falling 2 - 0. Sonderjyske has been on a bit of a run lately (4 wins out of 5) and have now jumped over Horsens in the league

Johnathan Spector (90) and Birmingham had a job on their hands today as they faced Aston Villa in a game that had the home team fighting back, for a 1 - 1 draw in the English Championship. Birmingham sit just outside the top six (on GD)

In Germany 2Liga, Russell Canouse went 90 as Bochum won their home match against Heidenheim

Sammy Adjai came off the bench with 10 minutes left in the game and helped Naestved win 1 - 2 over Nykobing in Denmark Division 1. This was Naestved's 2nd straight win and pulls them just above the drop zone

Caleb Stanko (70) and Vaduz were pummeled 5 - 0 today at Young Boys in Switzerland's Super League. Vaduz are now at the bottom of the table.

Rubio Rubin was on the bench again for Utrecht, who needed an own goal by visitors Nijmegen to get secure a 1 - 1 home draw

Dallas Aminzadeh went 90 as Oldenburg hosted Hansa in Regionalliga (Nord) and won 1 - 0

John Brooks went 90 as Hertha visited Hoffenheim in Bundesliga, and lost 1 - 0. Hoffenheim with 5 consecutive wins jumps over Hertha into 3rd place in Bundesliga. Hertha have been a little shaky lately and need to find their mojo again

Ismar Tandir was an unused sub for Javor as they traveled to FK Vozdovac in the Serbian Super Liga and won 1 - 2

Paul Torres (90) as Assyriska FF win 1 - 0 over Varnamo in Sweden's Superettan. With the win, Assyriska helped themselves, and are now in a position to lock-in a Play-off possibility to stay in Superettan next season

Keaton Parks went 65 for Varzim as they lose 2 - 1 to Penafiel in Portugal's Segunda Liga. It should be noted that when defender Keaton left the game Varzim were up 0 - 1, and gave up 2 goals in 15 minutes..the loss drops Varzim into the relegation zone (but there is plenty of time to battle out)

Jochen Graf was an unused sub as Oskarshamns visit Trollhattan in Sweden's Division 1 (Sodra) and grab a point in a 1 - 1 draw. The draw make things interesting - with 1 game left, next week, Oskarshamns are 2 points above the drop zone with 3 teams that can pass them with wins (1 can tie them with a draw) so next weeks game at home to QViding is critical, a draw may not do it

Nicholas Edginton (90) for Samorin as they visited Sered in Slovakia 2Liga (West) and lost by 1 - 0. USA Coach Mike Keeney felt that the early goal - 4th minute - really effected the games out-come. Disappointment for Samorin, who have been struggling after a good start (only 1 point from last 5 games) but they still sit in 5th place (only 1 point out of 3rd!)

A Bobby Wood Red Card, on a weak call, hammered the nail into Hamburg's chances as they fall 3 - 0 at FC Koln. Hamburg who are entrenched at the bottom of Bundesliga and still without a win, had held FC Koln scoreless up to Bobby's sending off, but 3 minutes later the floodgates opened as FC Koln pressed home their advantage

With one game left this season, Helsingborg fired on all cylinders to win 1 - 4 at bottom placed Falkenbergs. GK Quentin Westberg was back between the posts.

Helsingborg are currently 3rd from bottom in the relegation Play-off spot. Gefle who are on a charge below them are 2 points behind and mathematically can pass them. Next, and last game of the season, for both teams will decide the outcome. Gefle must visit 9th place Ostersunds (who have won their last 2) but Gefle are on a run and have not lost in their last 5 - should be an interesting game. Helsingborg will host twelfth place Jonkopings, a game that could go either way. Certainly it seems that Helsingborg has a slight edge going into the final game

Norway's Tippeligaen was pretty exciting today. Josh Gatt (80) Scored his first goal in 2 years as Molde won their next to last game 3 - 0 over hapless Stabaek and Cole Grossman (90).

Molde cannot gain European football next season, the best they can do is 4th place. Stabaek are still in a relegation battle. They face even more hapless Start at home next week, so 3 points is a real possibility, and they will need them to aid their escape. Places 12 thru 15 are all battling to stay in the top tier Stabaek seems to have an advantage over Bodo/Glimt who will travel to #1, and UCL bound, Rosenborg, Tromso will host #3 Odd, who need to win to put a claim on 2nd place, and Lillestrom will welcome (maybe) Molde. Stabaek who have a -10 GD will need to win by at least 2 goals (depending on other outcomes) to even sniff a chance at remaining in the top tier

In the other Tippeligaen game of (USA) interest, Alex De John (90) and last place, Start could not hold-out against #2 Brann at home, and lost 1 - 2. GK Alex Horvath was in the 18 but did not play today. #2 Brann and #3 Odd are only separated by GD going into the final week, they will both represent Norway in the Europa League next season
