WEEKEND WRAP: 4-28-2017: Features 10 Goals / 8 Clean Sheets

Season kick-offs in Finland and Iceland added to the beginning of the Swedish lower leagues are all represented in this weekends wrap. Its great when our boy's score goals, but our goalkeepers are flying the flag rigorously right now. Of note Zac Lubin, who has only allowed 1 goal this young season and got his first clean sheet, along with Jeff Gal, also only 1 goal allowed this season,  who are making the nets in Sweden their domain. Happy to see Daniel Schmidt between the posts in Japan again, 2 weeks starting and a clean sheet this weekend. All of this weeks keepers have impressed.

OK, so goals, Jordan Siebatcheu does it again in France - he needs calling up (at least a look) Lawrence Smith, who is a CB, scored a ton last season and he has started the new season with one, even in a losing effort. Dion Acoff got his team in Iceland off to a good start, and a new comer (to this blog) Felix De Bono, who is a US/Brazil dual, scored on his debut - although it won't count as the game was abandoned due to snow

Finally, Congratulation to DeAndre Yedlin and Newcastle on their promotion to the EPL and to Matt Miazga and Vitesse for their KNVB Becker Cup Final win.

So OK to the lists....first the short version..........

FRIDAY

GK Steve Clark (90) Conor O'Brien (73) in Horsens 2 - 1 loss at Odense in
Denmark's Superliga (Relegation Group). 2 straight loses (and 3 of the last 4) look to have Horsens on the way down to Division 1

Shane O'Neill went 90 in NAC Breda's 4 - 1 win at home to FC Oss in Netherlands Eerste Divisie. Breda are in 6th (which gets them a quarter final playoff spot) 1point to get them to a semi-final spot. Next up are Almere who are 2 points behind them - critical game

Gedion Zelalem started, but only went the first half, as unexpectedly, #1 Venlo fall 1 - 4 at home to #2 Jong Ajax. Venlo still lead the division, but the lead is now only 4 points in Eerste Divisie

DeAndre Yedlin went 90' for Newcastle as they traveled to Cardiff and won 0 - 2 which ensured their Promotion to the English Premier League next season. Congrats to Newcastle and to DeAndre

GK Ciaran Nugent was the backup keeper for Galway as they win 2 - 1 over Dundalk in Ireland's Premier Division. Galway are still last in the table, but with their first win today, 3 draws and only 1 loss in the last 5 games things are looking up after a rocky start to the season

Hunter Gorskie, started on the bench - but was called into action 12' in to replace an injured defender (he is a midfielder) as Legnica fall 2 - 1 at Podbeskidzie in Poland's Division 1. Legnica are in 4th place 3 points out of 2nd / 4 points out of 1st....tight at the top of the table as 7 teams vie for 2

Furth U19 0 - 5 in a convincing away win in Junior Bundesliga (Süd/Südwest)

Emerson Hyndman went 57' as Rangers hosted Celtic in Scotland's Premier League (Championship Group) which this season is somewhat of a joke (Celtic are 27 points ahead of the #2 team) Celtic proved their dominance with a 1 - 5 at Ibrox. Rangers remain in 3rd place (looking like they are safely into Europa League)

GK Brendan Moore (90) gets the Shut Out as Torquay hosted North Ferriby, winning 2 - 0 in England's National League. That's 3 straight wins for Torquay, who end the season in 17th place

GK David Yelldell was the backup keeper for Sonnenhof as they played Bremen II to a goalless draw in 3Liga

Terence Boyd was out injured as Darmstadt won their 3rd straight over visitors Frieburg 3 - 0 - to little to late for Darmstadt though

Christian Pulisic couldn't provide the magic for Dortmund, as they were held in a goalless draw at home to FC Koln. Dortmund still in 3rd place

Fabian Johnson still injured at M'Gladbach who traveled to Mainz and won 1 - 2 . M'Gladbach still have an outside (but unlikely) chance of a Europa League spot

Oh Dear! Alfredo Morales picks up a RED (2 x yellow) as Ingolstadt traveled to RB Leipzig and manage a goalless draw (every point is crucial) Its not looking good for Ingolstadt

In England's Premier League, Geoff Cameron went 90 in a dull 0 - 0 draw with West Ham. Stoke sitting in 12 spot are high enough in the league that they will survive and continue in EPL next season

Lyndon Gooch was an unused sub as Sunderland fall 0 - 1 at home to Bournemouth in an awful performance - Sunderland are Relegated, and will play in the English Championship next season

Fulham and Tim Ream (90) were held to a 1 - 1 draw with Brentford in England's Championship (they missed a potential game winning PK) but remain in 6th - the final play-off spot - as the teams around them faired no better

In Scotland Premier League (Championship Group) Bjorn Johnsen came off the bench at 79' while Perry Kitchen sat this one out, as Hearts draw 2 - 2 at home with Partick. Hearts are probably to far behind to make any European spot next season.....

Mason Robertson (90) in Stenhousemuir's 0 - 2 win at Queens Park in Scotland's League One. Steny move to within 3 points of safety after their 2nd straight win

In Bosnia's Premier League (Championship Group), Nermin Crnkic Scored 2 Goals and Sarajevo went on to win 0 - 3 at Radnik Bijeljina. Very tight at the top of the league, where leaders Zrinjski are tied for first (lead on GD) with Zeljeznicar, but Sarajevo are only 2 points behind both these teams. Europa League spot is locked, UCL to play for

Ha!!! Caleb Stanko went 90 as Vaduz won away from home 1 - 3, on the strength of 2 (Two) OG's by Lausanne. Vaduz are still 4 points from safety, but another freeky game could see them safe

Felix De Bono (a USA/Brazil dual) Scored the tieing goal for Ekenas and Echu Tabe was on the bench in a game that was abandoned (at 1 - 1) because of snow at TPS Turku in Finland's Ykkonen - this was the season opener for both teams

SUNDAY

With 3 straight losses, Hamburg slip back below the red line, and need results to survive - next up are Mainz, who are ahead of Hamburg only on GD, an opportunity for both teams to break out - should be an exciting game

WEEKEND WRAP: 4-21-2017: 10 Goals / 2 Assists / 6 Shut Outs on a Busy 3 Days

On one of the busiest weekends this year, our American guys had a pretty successful time of things, with Americans representing in 19 countries. Sweden started with their lower leagues and it seems that our goalkeepers were ready with 3 clean sheets. Shout out to Zac Lubin for 2 clean sheets in his first 2 games, Jeff Gal gets his first shut out and Matt Pyzdrowski and (still unbeaten) Helsingborg continue their bright start to the season, and Matt had his 2nd clean sheet of the season

Lyndon Gooch played in Sunderland's  U23's and scored, Isaiah Young was on the score-sheet again and Jordan Siebatcheu had a brace as he led his team to victory. There was a first goal, by Dylan Williams in Australia for his new team, but it was in germany that we still saw the most goals with 5 goals.

So many teams are now at that point in the season that a win or loss could mean UCL or Europa or nothing at all, its a great time of the year. We plan to continue the Weekend Wrap as usual, but on busy mid-week days we will add a wrap to cover all the activity - so keep an eye open for that.

Emerson Hyndman went 70 in Rangers 2 - 0 loss at Hampden Park as Celtic score both sides of the half to win the Scottish FA Cup Semi-Final match. So the Final is set Celtic v Aberdeen

They lead the Denmark 2nd Division (Promotion Group) by 5 points - and look a good bet for promotion to the 1st Division

TRANSFER Ex DCU Academy, Timothy Wilson Signs for OTP in Finland For Their First Season

Timothy Wilson (Frederick, Md.) a 23 year old striker has joined OTP in Finland. I have to admit finding info on Timothy is a little tough, I know he played with DC United's Academy team, at the U18 level. The OTP site states that after DCU he traveled, playing in Turkey, France and Peru, I cannot confirm any of that. Timothy had been trialing with OTP for the past month, before signing a contract.

The club's full name for the curious is Oulun Työväen Palloilijat - so OTP is better, kick off their season in Finland's Kakkonen Group C on April 30th at home against KuFu. For OTP this is their first 'senior' season having played in Kolmonen (semi-pro) prior and offered the place in the Kakkonen League following YPA (was US Goalkeepers Scott Angevines last team) filling for bankruptcy

NOTE: as stated, it has been really difficult finding any information about this (other than OTP's website). If you should have more info, please let me know. Thanks

SPECIAL EASTER MONDAY WRAP: 4-17-2017

Photo: InsideSoCal.com
Seeing as there was so much activity today, I thought I would put out a special 'wrap' for the day.

Quite a few of the more 'known' names took the field and many lesser known players done their bit. Goalkeepers had a pretty good day with a special shout out for Zac Lubin - who produced a clean sheet/win on his debut appearance in Sweden. Ciaran Nugent finally got his opportunity in Ireland and paid back his coach with a shut out, and finally Josh Wicks was stellar for Sirius also in Sweden, with a clean sheet/win. No goals, but plenty of action today....straight to the full listing

EASTER MONDAY

Rubio Rubin was an unused sub as Silkeborg visited Viborg in Denmark Superliga (Relegation Group) and drew 0 - 0. Rubio still looking for his first start with Silkeborg, who remain group leaders. George Fochive remains out of the Viborg squad recovering from an injury

Alassane Kane got just the final 12 minutes as Bayern Hof were thumped by Bayern II 5 - 0 in Regionalliga (Bayern)

Benedict Laverty came off the bench at 79' as Augsburg II traveled to Furth II and came away with a point with a 1 - 1 draw in Regionalliga (Bayern)

GK Ethan Horvath was an unused sub as Club Brugge continues its effort to make a UCL spot next season in a 2 - 2 draw at Waregem in Belgium's Jupiler League (Championship Group). Ethan still has 0 minutes with his new club. Club Brugge sit in 2nd place, with 2 teams breathing heavy behind them. Position could change later today

Shane O'Neill only lasted the first half as NAC Breda were held to a 3 - 3 draw in Netherlands Eerste Divisie by Eindhoven. Breda should make it through to post season play for a promotion spot, but its a hard road for them as they will enter in the quarter finals and have to play through

Gedion Zelalem was an unused sub for Venlo in their goalless draw with Emmen in Eerste Divisie. IMHO Gedion needs to get out of this situation, and find a club where he can get some serious playing time. Venlo has a gameday squad of 23 players, its just to many for him to get a chance

Jamil Fearington went 90 in Bronshoj 1 - 0 defeat at Aarhus Fremad in Denmark Division 2 (Promotion Group) Bronshoj are not in the running for promotion.....
Mayowa Alli (from Twitter)
Mayowa Alli went 90 in Thisted's 0 - 5 win at Greve in Denmark Division 2 (Promotion Group) Thisted are leading the group and look likely to get promoted to Denmark Division 1

Anton Peterlin played the final 3 minutes as B93 traveled to Kjellerup IF and won 1 - 3 in Denmark Division 2 (Promotion Group). B93 are 3 points off of the 2nd promotion spot...we will have to wait and see how they end up the season

In Sweden Superettan, GK Matt Pyzdrowski and Helsingborg got a shock when Gefle scored in the first minute of play...They fought back and the match ended in a 1 - 1 draw. Helsingborg are in 5th place, and have yet to lose a game. Good start to the season

Tim Ream went 90 for Fulham as they beat Aston Villa 3 - 1 in England's Championship. The win moves them into 6th place, the final promotional play-off spot. Fulham are on a 3 game win streak.

Eric Lichaj went 90 in Nottingham's 1 - 0 loss at Cardiff in England's Championship. Unbelievably, Nottingham are only 1 point above relegation

DeAndre Yedlin, back in the starting line-up at Newcastle, went 78 minutes as Newcastle fall 3 - 1 at Ipswich. Luckily Newcastle have a pretty good point cushion as they have only 1 point from their last 3 matches. Brighton have pulled 7 points ahead in the race for the top spot in England's Championship, but I still feel Newcastle will get the 2nd automatic berth.

Danny Williams put in 90 minutes for Reading as they win 2 - 1 over Rotherham in England's Championship and maintain their position for the post season play-offs

Duane Holmes has slipped down the pecking order and remained on the bench today as Scunthorpe continued their revival with a 3 - 1 win over Chesterfield in England League One. Sheffield United are already promoted so only 1 spot remains for automatic promotion. 4 points separates #2 and #5 so it looks to be down to the wire for that spot and then a battle between the remainder in the play-offs - exciting stuff. Just an fyi...Scunthorpe has now won 3 straight and 4 out of 5 in their run up

Niall Mason went 90 as Doncaster fall 0 - 1 to Blackpool in England League Two. Note: Doncaster have already won promotion, and will play in League One next season

GK Brendan Moore (90) as Torquay beat Braintree 3 - 1 in England's National League. Torquay are now just 1 point away from safety, but will have to travel to high-flying Dover next weekend

Jon-Paul Pittman (90) as Harrogate Town falls 0 - 3 to Halifax in England's National League (North)

Kristian Scott went 90 as Nuneaton traveled to AFC Telford and came away with a 2 - 4 win in England's National League (North)
Photo: SportingKC                         Zac Lubin
A successful debut for GK Zac Lubin, who gets the Shut-Out for his new team Ljungskile in a 1 - 0 win over Utsiktens in Sweden's Division One (Sodra)

Mix Diskerud went 86 in Goteborg's match with newly promoted AFC that ended 1 - 1. This drops Goteborg to 4th and moves AFC off the bottom - not a good result for Goteborg

Another American GK in Sweden gets a Shut-Out as newly promoted Sirius and GK Josh Wicks traveled to Norrkoping and won 0 - 2 - the win moves them to 3rd place...not a bad start to the season for Sirius

GK Bakary Sanyang went 90 in TSG Pfeddersheim' 2 - 2 draw at SV Gonserheim in Germany's Oberliga (Rheinland-Pfalz/Saar)

Oscar Ortiz went 90 as FC Feucht falls 1 - 2 to SV Erlenbach in Oberliga (Bayern Nord)

Julian Ceesay went 90 in FC Amberg's 1 - 2 loss Wurzburger FV in Oberliga (Bayern Nord)

Stefan Antonijevic was an unused sub as Lillestrom visited Aalesund and lost 3 - 1 in Norway's Eliteserien. Just 4 games into the season and Lillestrom are on a 3 game losing streak

GK Alex Horwath still has not debuted for Brann, as they win 3 - 1 over Haugesund in Norway's Eliteserien

Julian Green was an unused sub in an exciting 2 -3 win by Stuttgart over Bielefeld in Germany's 2Liga  Stuttgart lead the race for promotion - by 1 point

GK Ciaran Nugent got the nod today, and showed his worth with a Shut-Out performance for Galway who won 2 - 0 over Derry City in Ireland's League Cup Round of 16 - qualify for the quarter finals.

GK Brad Guzan got a rare start with Middlesbrough  in the English Premier League, with the unenviable task of stopping Arsenal....although Arsenal are going through some problems right now, IMHO, Middlesbrough were never really expected to win and didn't, losing 1 - 2 but not a bad performance from them. Brad will be in the US (in MLS) sometime during the Summer Transfer window.

TRANSFER: Kyle Gurrieri signed with Nordvärmland FF in Sweden Division 2 - Joins 2 Other Americans at Club

Totowa, New Jersey native Kyle Gurrieri (19) signed with Nordvärmland in Sweden Division 2 - Nora Gotaland back in March. Kyle is a mid-fielder who played college at Syracuse University (after spending a short time with Wilmington Hammerheads) signed on March 10th

He will join fellow American's John Avery Neal (Los Alamos NM - College Pacific U) and Goalkeeper Tony Halterman (a dual USA/Croatia who played with Kitsup Pumas SC)

3 American's means a close watch of Nordvärmland FF this upcoming season

TRANSFER: Former Ft. Lauderdale Striker - Mitchel Lopez signed with BK-46 in Finland Kakkonen

Another catch-up move - still searching/still researching
Photo:  Svenska YLE             Mitchell Lopez (left) and Alieu Ceesay at BK46
Mitchel Lopez, 23, a defensive midfielder out of Opa-locka Florida joined BK-46 from EIK in the semi-pro leagues of Finland in January. Mitchel, who uses the 'one name', is a dual USA/Brazil. He started his career at Penarol-AM in Brazil, before moving to the Ft. Lauderdale Strikers in NASL, where he spent a year, then chose Finland as his next stop.

Mitchel is paired with fellow American - Jacob Bushue - should be fun to track BK-46 this upcoming season

WEEKEND WRAP: 4-14-2017: Americans Helping Their Clubs

The weekend, which is slightly reduced because of the holiday, had some interesting games for our players. Outstanding in the group is Horsens pair goal keeper Steve Clark and Mid-fielder Conor O'Brien who both contributed to their clubs critical win. Also of note Emerson Hyndman and Christian Pulisic both with assist's and Danijal Brkovic who scored the winner for his team in Bosnia. Sweden has kicked off their season, and quite a number of Americans have already represented their clubs, with more to come as the lower league's get going. Next week Finland will go to a full schedule, so there is lot's to look forward to.

Here are the lists....short form first......

GOALS
Joshua Perez - Italy
Danijal Brkovic - Bosnia
Brian Span - Finland

ASSISTS
Christian Pulisic - Germany
Emerson Hyndman - Scotland
Connor O'Brien - Denmark

SHUTOUTS
Steve Clark - Denmark

.......and below..the full, comprehensive look at the weekend.

FRIDAY

I included this game, from Thursday. Chad Barson (90) for Linkoping City in Sweden's Division 2 (Sodra Svealand) and Kyle Knotek (90) as the 2 Americans helped their team battle to a goalless draw at Rynninge IK. Linkoping City are tied top of the league.

GK Jeff Gal and BK Forward played to a 1 -1 draw at BKV Norrtälje in Sweden's Division 2 (Nora Svealand) in their 2nd game of the new season. Currently sitting in 2nd place.
Photo: ESPN FC     Joshua Perez
Joshua Perez Scored Fiorentina U19's 6th goal in a 6 - 0 drubbing of Perugia U19 in Italy's Primavera (Group A) Fiorentina U19 are in 2nd place tied with AC Milan U19, Fiorentina have a much better GD over third place Milan (+41)

Eric Lichaj (90) and Nottingham lose 0 - 1 at home to Blackburn, in England's Championship. Just 2 points above the red line...they are in trouble (just 5 points from last 5 games)

Duane Holmes was an unused sub in Scunthorpe's 0 - 1 away win at MK Dons in England's League One. Still in the thick of it, for a promotional play-off spot.

Nial Mason went 90, picked up a yellow, as Doncaster traveled to Colchester and forced a 1 - 1 draw, keeping their 6 point lead on top of England's League Two - Doncaster are PROMOTED to England League One

Tim Ream went 90 for Fulham as they traveled to Norwich and earned a tough 1 - 3 victory, playing the 2nd half a man down. They are still knocking on the door of a promotional play-off spot, only 3 points separate #7 Fulham from #4 Reading

GK Brendan Moore (90) and Torquay look to be heading down, 4 points adrift of safety and with time running out, yet again they gave up the lead late in the game and crumbled..at least this time it was at league leaders Lincoln - Final 2 - 1 in England's National League

Danijal Brkovic went 90 Scored the games only goal as Celik Zenica visited Olimpic Sarajevo in Bosnia's Premier League (Relegation Group) wining 0 - 1. Celik still in big trouble, 2nd from bottom.

Shane O'Neill went 90, picked up a yellow, as NAC Breda fall 2 - 1 at Helmond in Netherlands Eerste Divisie. That's 2 straight losses at a time they are fighting for a post season play-off spot

Gedion Zelalem came off the bench for Venlo at 68' mark to help his team win 1 - 2 at Waalwijk in Eerste Divisie. Venlo seem to have recovered from their rough spot (lets call it a blip) and have put together 2 wins, and an 8 point cushion at the top of the league with only a few games left to play

DeAndre Yedlin, back in the Newcastle saddle again, as they hold off Leeds in the English Championship, but the 1 - 1 draw probably hands the top spot to Brighton (who won again) although Newcastle still look good for the #2 spot and automatic promotion to the Premier League

GK Ciaran Nugent was in his familiar back up position as Galway managed a point at home with a 1 - 1 draw with St Patricks, as both teams struggle in the early season

Perry Kitchen got the captains armband again and Hearts finished the regular season with a goalless draw at Kilmarnock. Hearts enter the post season Championship Group at 5th place, in the hunt for a European competition place next season. Bjorn Johnsen was an unused sub in the game. I'm sure Hearts will be disappointed with the poor form hitting at the end of the season, when they started so well

Jordan Siebatcheu (90) in Chateauroux 1 - 1 home draw with Chambly in France National League. Chateauroux have hit a bad spot, right now, which has dropped them to 4th place (5 points in 5 games)

SATURDAY

GK Kenneth Kronholm (90) for Kiel as they visited Erfurt in Germany's 3Liga and snagged an away point in a 1 - 1 draw. Kiel in 3rd place (tied with Magdeburg)

Royal Fennell went 90,picked up a yellow as Hallescher were held 1 - 1 at home by Duisburg in 3Liga

Regensburg and Jann George (90 + yellow) hosted Bremen II in 3Liga, winning this one 3 - 1 and boosting Regensburg into 2nd place.

Joe Gyau went 86 minutes, while GK David Yelldell watched from the bench as Sonnenhof scored twice in a 5 minute stretch in the first half and held on to beat Mainz II 2 - 1 in 3Liga. Devante Parker was an unused sub for Mainz II who look a sure bet for relegation into Regionalliga.
Brian Span is on a goal scoring run
Brian Span played 90' and Scored the tying goal for Mariehamn as they were held at home to a 1 - 1 draw with HJK in Finland's Veikkausliiga, that's 2 goals in the first 2 games of the season - rockin it Brian

In Sweden Division 1 (Sodra) Ryan Masch went 90 as Skovde traveled to Rosengard and won 0 - 1 in their opening league game. Not a bad way to start your season

Christian Pulisic started, went 90 and got the Assist on Dortmund's 1st goal as they beat Timothy Chandler (90) and Frankfurt 3 - 1 in Bundesliga as they battle for a UCL spot

Oh Dear! John Brooks gets hit with an OG and a yellow card in a 90' performance as Hertha fall to Mainz 0 - 1. Hertha holding on to the automatic Europa League spot by their fingernails

Alfredo Morales went 69 as Ingolstadt were well beaten at Wolfsburg 3 - 0 making survival in Bundesliga an even harder job, as Ingolstadt's 3 win streak hits a brick-wall and 2Liga looms

In England's Premier League, Geoff Cameron went 90 as Stoke beat Hull 3 - 1, breaking a 3 game losing streak for Stoke

In England's Championship, Danny Williams (90 + yellow) traveled to Aston Villa and won 1 - 3, moving to 4th place, looking more likely they will be in the post-season play-offs

In Scotland's Premier League, Emerson Hyndman went 90 and is credited with the Assist on Rangers 2nd goal, as they win 2 - 0 over Partick. Regular season is done, Rangers end 3rd, next up Championship Group (6 teams) will play for their Europe spots

In Scotland's Championship, GK Danny Rogers is back in the squad, spending today on the bench as Falkirk come from behind twice to tie St Mirren 2 - 2 . Falkirk still in 2nd place

Mason Robertson (90) has become a regular for Stenhousemuir in Scotland's Division 1, the team is not doing to well, losing again today, 0 - 1 at home to #1 Livingstone and looking more and more likely to be in Division 2 next season

Masami Okada (90) as FC Schonberg win handily 3 - 0 over BFC Dynamo in Regionalliga (Nordost)

Ryan Malone only got 3 minutes on the pitch today as Stuttgart Kickers beat Charlie Rugg (90) and Pirmasens 3 - 1 in Regionalliga (Südwest)

Bryan Gaul went 90 as Offenbach visited Steinbach in Regionalliga (Südwest) winning 0 - 1

Eric Lickert got 12 minutes in as Freiburg II win 2 - 1 over Karlsruher II in Oberliga (Baden-Württemberg)

Fabian Hurzeler (90) as Pipinsreid visited Regensburg II and win 0 - 1 in Oberliga (Bayern Sud) Fabian is Player/Coach at Pipinsreid (he took over in July last year) - Born in Houston, Fabian is a dual Ger/USA Central Mid-fielder - all that at age 24 !!!!

Caleb Stanko (90) in Vaduz 0 - 1 home loss to Sion in Switzerland's Super League. Vaduz 5 points adrift at the bottom of the table looked doomed and a good bet for relegation
Photo: Ekstra Bladet  Steve Clark gets a clean sheet
Huge win for Horsens in Denmark's Superliga (Relegation Group) as GK Steve Clark gets the Shut-Out and Conor O'Brien gets the Assist in their 0 - 1 victory at Esbjerg

Shaq Moore only lasted the first half as Levante UD B visited Valencia B and drew 1 - 1 in Spain's Segunda Division B (Group 3) . Levante UD B are right on the edge of disaster (ahead only on GD) an away draw is a good result against the #3 team, but when you need points......just sayin'

Aaron Schoenfeld was an unused sub as M Tel Aviv beat Petah Tikva 2 - 0 and drew with 3 points of the top spot in Israel's Ligat ha'Al (Championship Group) M.Tel Aviv are already set for an automatic berth in the Europa League

Matt Miazga left the field (injury ? Hamstring) in the 27th minute and Vitesse fall 1 - 0 at Excelsior in Netherlands Eredivisie. Vitesse should still make the Netherlands Europa League play-off.

Nermin Crnkic started for Sarajevo as they fought to a goalless draw at Zeljeznicar in Bosnia Premier League (Championship Group) Zrinjski won and jumped over both teams in the standings. As it stands right now -#1 Zrinjski would play UCL, #2 Zeljeznicar & #3 Sarajevo would enter Europa League

SUNDAY

It seems that Vegaita Sendai's problems go deeper than their goalkeeper squad. GK Daniel Schmidt, who had an outstanding last season was between the posts as Sendai suffered a 1 - 4 drubbing at the hands of #2 Kashima in Japan's J-League. Sendai has now played 3 different goalkeepers this young season (7 games) and given up 15 goals - the worst GA in J-League.

Russell Canouse came off the bench at 79' to help his team Bochum hold on to a slim 1 - 0 lead in Germany 2Liga. Bochum broke a string of draws (4 straight) with the win

Jerome Kiesewetter was an unused sub in Dusseldorf's 1 - 1 draw at Dresden in 2Liga

Shawn Barry went 90 for FSV Frankfurt and Marc Heider went 90 for Osnabruck in a 1 - 1 draw in Germany's 3Liga. Neither team benefited from the draw, with FSV in serious relegation trouble, and Osnabruck missing the chance to go 3rd (promotion spot)

In Sweden's Allsvenskan, Brendan Hines-Ike (90 + yellow) and Orebro won their match with Ostersunds 2 - 1 to maintain their 'shared' lead at the top of the table

In Sweden's Superettan, Alex de John (15) and Dalkurd are still unbeaten, today they held on for a goalless draw with Varbergs, very early days of the season. Dalkurd have Andrew Stadler available, but he has not yet made the game day squad

Aron Johannsson was an unused sub as Bremen faced off with Hamburg in Bundesliga, winning 2 - 1 (Bobby Wood has a knock, that kept him off the Hamburg squad today)

Romain Gall entered the match at the 83' mark for Sundsvall as they hosted Hacken in Sweden's Allsvenskan. Not enough time really for him to have an effect on the outcome, as Sundsvall fall 1 - 2. This is their 2nd straight loss, after opening with a win.
