TRANSFERS: Winter 2018 Transfer Window Dates - Open/Close

So its that time of the year again, and if you are like me, I have trouble tracking opens/closes of transfer windows. So here's my list - I figured I would share it, so you can reference it when ever you need to. I intentionally left out many countries, some we have no active Americans playing, some are not in the Euro/Scandinavian region - so please don't troll me for leaving them out.

We are blessed to have players all over the World, some I just have no idea about - if you know of any players that I missed,  please let me know

You can follow all the moves here;

WEEKLY WRAP: 12.11 Through 12.17.2017 - Chandler/Siebatcheu/Pulisic Shine

This week was really about 3 players, Timothy Chandler, Jordan Siebatcheu and Christian Pulisic - all three had outstanding matches and contributed to their teams success.

First, the wrap is a little shorter this week, weather is the culprit. So many games postponed, it will be interesting to see how, especially in Germany, these games get made up. The German Leagues just shut for the Winter Break, so no matches scheduled till mid/late January. Note: There are some Cup matches scheduled next week.

So to the shout outs.....Timothy Chandler in his first game back for Frankfurt had two assists in the first 30 minutes, enough to ensure their victory. Timothy came back energized by his time off and played maybe his best game this season. Jordan Siebatcheu gave some additional bubbles to the Champagne-Ardenne region of France, Riems, with a hat-trick performance, and for good measure, an assist. Finally, Christian Pulisic waited till the very end of the match, for effect, to score Dortmund's winning goal and send the fans into a state of delirium

Our forgotten/re-emerging player is not playing in the hallowed grounds of Europe, but in the infant ISL in India. Keeper Paul Rachubka has now played 5 straight matches since joining the Southern Indian team of Kerala and he has managed 3 clean sheet's. Paul spent the majority of his career in England.

Young Gun of the week, any one named Malone!! Maurice scored for Augsburg U19 and Ryan Scored for Lokomotive Leipzig - both in Germany

To the lists. First the short(est) list I have done

GOALS
Ryan Malone - Germany
Jordan Siebatcheu (3) - France
Christian Pulisic - Germany
Maurice Malone - Germany

ASSIST
Timothy Chandler (2) - Germany
Jordan Siebatcheu - France

SHUT OUT
Paul Rachubka - India

......and the longer more comprehensive listing;

MONDAY

Giles Phillips (10) as QPR U23 fall 2 - 1 at Millwall U23 in England's PDL (South) QPR U23 had the lead until 72nd minute - they are still top of the table though, but after 2 loses and a draw their lead is now cut to 1 point

Perry Kitchen went 90 & picked up a yellow as the hapless Randers lose 0 - 4 at home to Midtyjlland in the Danish Superliga...can any one say Division 1 next season

TUESDAY

In his all to familiar spot, Shawn Barry remained on the bench as Korona traveled to Jagiellonia and got trounced 5 - 1 in Poland Ekstraklase. 2nd straight loss for Korona, who slip to 5th, but giving up 8 goals in 2 matches - not good!

John Brooks (90) in Wolfsburg's 1 - 1 home draw with RB Leipzig. Leipzig are clearly the 2nd best team in Bundesliga, right now, so a draw and a much needed point for Wolfsburg is not such a bad result.

Kenny Saief (72) as Gent are bounced out of the Belgium Cup 4 - 1 at Kortijk in the quarter finals. Kenny's first start since returning from injury, a positive to take away (maybe the only one) from Gent's performance.

Caleb Stanko off the bench at 78' helping Freiburg maintain their 1 - 0 lead over M'Gladbach till the end of the match. An important 3 points for them. 3 wins and a draw over their last 4 matches and Freiburg are 3 points clear of the Bundesliga relegation zone (Fabian Johnson still with a back injury at M'Gladbach)

Timothy Chandler (90) is back. 2 Assists in the first 30 minutes was enough for Frankfurt to win 1 - 2 at Hamburg (minus injured Bobby Wood) The win puts Frankfurt into a 4th place tie with Dortmund and M'Gladbach. Welcome back Timmy

Christian Pulisic went 70 as Dortmund finally won a game, 0 - 2 at Mainz. Early season points have kept them in the top 4 - now they need to take this match as a turn-around

Danny Williams (90) as Huddersfield suffered another defeat, this time 1 - 3 at home to Chelsea. That's just 3 points from their last 5 matches

Jerome Kiesewetter (13) makes his first appearance in a while (injury) as Dusseldorf traveled to Braunschweig in Germany 2Liga and won 0 - 1. Dusseldorf now lead 2Liga, by 1 point, but have played 1 more game than those chasing to the top

Alfredo Morales (90) for Ingolstadt as they visited Union Berlin in 2Liga, winning this one 1 - 2 and moving into 4th place (over Union Berlin) Good result for them

Royal Fennell (90) as Hallescher played at league leaders Paderborn in Germany 3Liga and came away with a point in a goalless draw - great performance on their part, and helping to pull away from the relegation zone

Kai Koreniuk (90) and Jong AZ were trounced 3 - 0 at Maastricht in Eerste Divisie. That's 4 straight losses for them, and 3rd from bottom could spell doom unless they break out of this funk

Isaiah Young (84) as Bremen II lost 1 - 0 at Unterhaching in 3Liga

Oh Yes!!! Jordan Siebatcheu (85) SCORES A HAT-TRICK and gets an Assist as Reims demolish Valenciennes 5 - 1 in France League 2 and maintain their 7 point lead at the top of the table, with their 4th straight win (Reims last league loss was October 13th)

Antonio Iacovelli, Off the bench at 72 min. as CD Cesena U19 throttled Parma U19 4 - 0 in Italy's Primavera 2 (Group A) for their 3rd straight win (6 matches unbeaten) and move into 3rd place (tied with 4 other teams) 4th on GD

In Bundesliga, Caleb Stanko came off the bench at 90' as a time waste for Freiburg in a disastrous 2 ET goal collapse at Augsburg. Final 3 - 3 with, as stated, 2 goals allowed in the 3 minutes of ET

In Belgium's Jupiler League, Kenny Saief remained on the bench as Gent visited St Liege and played to a goalless draw. Gent hold on to 4th place, but only by 1 point

Christian Pulisic was subbed out at 90 +3, but not before he Scored Dortmund's winning Goal in the 89th minute as they came back after Hoffenheim took the early lead to win 2 - 1, Dortmund's 2nd straight. Just like that Dortmund are in 3rd place (on GD)

Juan Torres remained on the bench as Lokeren draw 1 - 1 at home with Waasland-Beveren in Belgium's Jupiler League. Lokeren are desperate for points, only 2 from their last 5, sit next to last place

Matt Miazga (90) and Vitesse traveled to Twente and grabbed a point in a 1 - 1 draw in Netherlands Eredivisie. Vitesse is real wobbly right now, and have slipped to 7th place, slowly falling out of contention for a Euro spot next season (1w, 2d, 2l in last 5)

SUNDAY

James Pendrigh (90) in Canterbury United's 3 - 0 win at home over Hawkes Bay in New Zealand Premier League

Eric Panzer came off the bench as Team Wellington were held to a goalless draw at home by Southern United in New Zealand Premier League

Ken Gipson (90) as Sandhausen beats GK Kenneth Kronholm (90) and Kiel 3 - 1. Kiel have looked wobbly for the last month, playing to draws in 4 of the last 5. Going into the winter break they have lost their top spot. Sandhausen (Wooten & Wright not in 18) have moved up to 5th place following this 2nd straight win, hopefully the momentum will survive the break.

Khai Celestin, off the bench at 71' as C.D.Sariñena get thumped 0 - 4 at home by league leaders Teruel in Spain Tercera Division (Group 17)

Joe Efford (29) as Ergotelis draw 1 - 1 at home with Apollon Pontou in Greece Football League. Ergotelis are struggling this season, 8 matches / 3 points and sitting at bottom

Keaton Parks only got the final 7 minutes in, which is a shame as Benfica was have a goal fest, as they beat Tondela 1 - 5 in Portugal's Primeira Liga. But he played....so good! Next up #1 Sporting on Jan 3rd- that will be a fun game

WEEKLY WRAP: 12.4 through 12.9.2017: Weather Takes its Toll - But Still Goals

This weeks schedule was decimated by bad weather in Europe, primarily in the lower leagues, but noticeable even in the bigger matches. So your reading time will be less (and its good practice for me prior to the Winter break).

The shout-outs are not all positive this week, but with the reduced match's the negatives stick out a little more. We lost our Europa League teams, M.Tel Aviv, Hertha and Vitesse, but all played well in their final competition outings, with GK Jonathan Klinsmann perhaps overshadowing the other US players, with a late game saving PK save, retaining Hertha's 1 - 1 draw. On the other side of the coin, the usually reliable PK taker Andrija Novakovich, missed a PK that would have given Telstar the lead and maybe the win in the Netherlands. I don't usually follow U17 league matches, but in Saturday's B-Junior Bundesliga we had 5, yup! five, young US prospects on show in one game, and a goal from Justin Butler in the game. It was good to see Geoff Cameron play after a long time away following a concussion, welcome back Geoff, Finally in Denmark's Superliga, Jonathan Amon and Emanuel Sabbi were on opposite sides in an exciting match-up of #3 vs #4...young guns that will (IMHO) feature in the US national squads in the coming years.

Enough! to the listings, first the short listing........

GOALS
James Murphy - England
Justin Butler (U17) - Germany
Joe Gyau - Germany
Marc Heider - Germany
Joel Sonora - Germany
Kevin Olali - Germany
Cordt Andreas Flatgen - Germany

......and the longer, more comprehensive listing;

Joe Efford (62) as Ergotelis hosted OFI Crete in Greece Football League. as they fall 2 - 4. Its been a shaky start to the season for Ergotelis with just 2 points from 6 matches, and deep into the red zone <Note> In Greece Football League the bottom 6 teams (in the 18 team league) are relegated

Shawn Barry remained on the bench as Korona traveled to Cracovia in Poland's Ekstraklasa and played to a a 2 - 2 draw. Korona now in 3rd place

Alfredo Morales lasted 68 minutes as Ingolstadt were throttled 0 - 2 by Braunschweig in Germany's 2Liga

GK Brendon Moore, sat on the bench and watched Rochdale dismantle amateurs Slough 0 - 4 in England's FA Cup

TUESDAY

Timothy Tillman came off the bench at 74' as Bayern U19 faced off with visitors PSG U19 and Timothy Weah (73) winning this UEFA Youth League match 3 - 1 and snagging the top spot in Group B. PSG U19 ended 2nd and will enter play-offs

Mukwelle Akale started for Villarreal C as they hosted CD Brunol in Spain's Tercera (Group 6) still coming back from injury, but good news that he started today

Emerson Hyndman (90) in Bournemouth U23 late loss at Wolves U23 2 - 1 in England's Premier League Cup

Duane Holmes remained on the bench today as Scunthorpe lost 1 - 2 to Leicester U23 in Checkatrade Trophy 1/16

Mason Robertson (90) in Peterhead's 0 - 1 away win at Stirling in Scotland's Division 2. Peterhead are now League Leaders on GD

WEDNESDAY

GK Brendan Austin (90) in Tottenham U19 convincing win over Cyprus' APOEL U19 by 4 - 1 which solidified Tottenham's top spot in UEFA Youth League (Group H) ahead of Dortmund U19 & Real Madrid U19. On to the next phase

Joshua Perez went 90 as Livorno fall 3 - 0 at Viterbese in Italy Serie C Cup. One of those matches where Livorno absolutely dominated in all aspects, but goals.

In England's Checkatrade Trophy, Gboly Ariyibi (64) for MK Don's as they are throttled by Chelsea U23 0 - 4, with Kyle Scott (82 + yellow) and an Assist on the 1st goal

In the UCL, Dortmund and Christian Pulisic (90) visited Real Madrid and lost 3 - 2. I did not see the match, but reports indicate that Christian had a good outing.

THURSDAY

Europa League Day - a pretty good day for our guys, but all for naught.

M. Tel Aviv with Aaron Schoenfeld (90) won at Villarreal in Spain 0 - 1. They did not qualify for the next round, but a great win nevertheless

Hertha Berlin and debutante GK Jonathan Klinsmann draw 1 - 1 with Sweden's Ostersunds, with Jonathan saving a PK in the 86th minute to maintain the draw for his club. Not a bad debut. Hertha are also eliminated from the competition

Likewise, Matt Miazga (90) and Vitesse are also out of the competition after beating French power, Nice 1 - 0 ending their campaign with a (sole) win

FRIDAY

Terence Boyd (90) for Darmstadt as they fall 0 - 1 at Aue in Germany's 2Liga. Darmstadt fall into the bottom 3 in the league (only 2 points from last 5 matches)

Masami Okada (90 + yellow) as Babelsberg fall 2 - 1 at Hertha II in Regionalliga (Nordost)

In France Ligue 2, Auxerre, with GK Quentin Westberg on the bench, fall 1 - 2 at home to Chateauroux

Jordan Siebatcheu (89) as Reims continue their winning ways with a 1 - 2 victory at Niort. Reims are 7 points clear at the top (but have played 1 more match than 2nd place Nimes)

Tours didn't put Maki Tall on the pitch till the 88th minute, and lost 1 - 2 to Nancy, leaving them in last place well adrift of the teams above them

Maurits De Baar remained on the bench in an absolutely futile performance by Waalwijk in Netherlands Eerste Divisie. Down to 9 men in the last half an hour they get clobbered for 6 in a 6 - 0 away loss

Just to add to the misery today in the Netherlands, Andrija Novakovich (65) the usually reliable penalty taker, missed a PK that would have given Telstar the lead as they hosted FC Emmen in Eerste Divisie and played to a goalless draw. Both teams are on 27 points (6th & 7th)

Cameron Carter-Vickers remained on the bench as Sheffield United continued their spiral downturn, losing 1 - 2 to Bristol City (and surrendering 3rd place) in England's Championship. It was not that long ago that they led the division, but 1 point from 4 outings, in such a competitive league has them just hanging on to a top 6 place......

GK Danny Rogers will get his chance some-day, till then he must be content with back-up keeper role for Aberdeen, who today won 0 - 1 at Dundee, in Scotland's Premier League. Aberdeen are in 2nd place, just 4 points behind Celtic.

SATURDAY

Julian Green (90) as Furth defend home turf, winning 1 - 0 over Heidenheim in Germany 2Liga. Kevin Lankford got 10 minute in at the end of the game for Heidenheim

Jann George played the 2nd half as Regensberg fall 0 - 1 at home to Bochum in a mid-table battle in 2Liga

In A-Junior Bundesliga (Süd/Südwest) Timothy Tillman (74) and Bayern U19 forced a 1 - 1 draw with Karlsruher U19.

OK this is not a match that I would normally track, but its a fun set up that had the potential for 5 USYNT playing for their respective teams.

Malik Tillman (yes brother of) played the whole game (80) Justin Butler off the bench at 61' Scored the 2nd Goal, Jalen Hawkins came off the bench at 77' as Bayern Munich U17 hosted Ian Hoffman (off the bench at 53) Jeremiah Kasteleiner (who is not yet eligible for USYNT), remained on the bench and Karlsruhrer U17 winning 3 - 0 in B-Junior Bundesliga (Süd/Südwest)

So their you have it 5 USYNT prospects playing in one match

In Germany 3Liga, Bremen II and Isaiah Young (68) got a 75th minute goal to draw 2 - 2 at Meppen. 3 straight draws for Bremen II, have pulled them out of the red zone (on GD)

Joe Gyau (90) Scored Sonnenhof's 3rd Goal and Mario Rodriguez came off the bench at 77' as they visited Munster and won big 1 - 4 in 3Liga. Sonnenhof are tied 5th (6th on GD) but still have a job ahead to reach a promotion possibility

Christian Pulisic (90) as Dortmund's problems continue, with a 1 - 2 home loss to cellar dwelling Bremen in Bundesliga. Dortmund, unbelievably, on 2 points from their last 5 outings

John Brooks (90) and Wolfsburg escape Hamburg with a goalless draw. Bobby Wood out for Hamburg with a knee injury, in Bundesliga

Danny Williams got a 1 minute cameo, as Huddersfield break their losing streak with a 2 - 0 win at home over Brighton, in England's Premier League

Not the welcome back that Geoff Cameron (15) would have wanted as Stoke fall hard, 5 - 1 at Tottenham. But its great to see Geoff back in the game

Tim Ream (90) Luca de la Torre (in 18) as Fulham win 1 - 0 at home over Birmingham in the English Championship

Eric Lichaj (90) and Nottingham Forest win a hard fought 3 - 2 match-up with Bolton, Antonee Robinson (90 + yellow) in the English Championship

Gboly Ariyibi got a 1 min cameo as MK Don's Draw 1 - 1 at home with Shrewsbury in League One

Shawn Barry remained on the bench as Korona got beat badly at home by Arka 0 - 3 in Poland's Ekstraklasa

Keaton Parks had to watch from the bench today as Benfica won 3 - 1 over last place Estoril in a game much closer than the score would have you believe. Benfica are now tied 2nd (3rd on GD) in Portugal's Primeira Liga, with only one loss so far this season

Kenny Saief (21) continues his rehab/match fitness comeback, as Gent hosted Kortrijk in Belgium's Jupiler League, winning 2 - 1. Gent has now won 6 straight, after a shaky start to the season and sit in 4th place

SUNDAY

James Pendrigh (90) as Canterbury traveled to Southern United ans won 0 - 2 in New Zealand's Premier League.

Caleb Stanko (73), replaced an injured Freiburg team-mate early in the match, had an OG, that gave Koln a 3 - 0 lead after 30 minutes.....then Koln imploded and Freiburg pounced with a final score of 3 - 4 in Bundesliga (both teams are in the bottom 3)

Alfredo Morales (90) as Ingolstadt take advantage of a 10 man Kaiserslautern and force a 1 - 1 draw in Germany 2Liga

2 young American's and their teams faced off in Denmark's Superliga, as Jonathan Amon (84) and Nordsjaelland win a tight one 3 - 2 at home to Hobro and Emanuel Sabbi, who played the last 10 minutes. The teams #3 and #4 before today's match remain in those positions for another week

Juan Torres remained on the bench as Lokoren traveled to runaway league leaders Club Brugge, losing 3 - 1. Lokoren now perilously close to the relegation spot. For Club Brugge, GK Ethan Horvath is still MIA, we will have to see how his status play's out, but right now things must be horrid for him

Joshua Perez (15) and Livorno visited Carrarese in Italy's Serie C (Group A) and won 2 - 3. Livorno and Josh are now 10 points clear at the top of the table, which if it continues, will place them in Serie B next season...we just have to be patient

Keaton Parks (90) as Benfica B wins 2 - 1 over Sporting B in Portugal's Segunda Liga. Benfica B move up to 10th place. Keaton was in the 18 yesterday for the senior squad, but remained on the bench. Its good that he is getting playing time, even if its with the B team

GK Jonathan Klinsmann was the back-up keeper for Hertha today as they visited Augsburg and came away with a point on an ET (90 +1) goal in Bundesliga. Hertha need every point as their season has not gone to well so far, so this late gained point must have felt like a win

In Spain's La Liga, Shaq Moore started and played the first half as Levante fall 1 - 2 to Ath. Bilbao. This game's goals came from a PK and 2 OG.......?

WEEKLY WRAP: 11.27 thru 12.03.2017: The Lows and The Highs

I never know what I will write to open this weekly wrap. As I am putting the listing together it will usually pop! This week is one of those weeks where I have a cloud over my thoughts. So many players are not making their teams or are having, what we now call 'cameo appearances' or just plain bench-warming. There are any number of reasons, and without having much greater detail its probably best for me to just be grumpy and leave it at that.

The German lower leagues were hit with snow, so many matches were postponed this week (the Winter Break will be here soon enough).

Whatever you think following my start, there are some bright spots that definitely need telling......Maki Tall off the bench at 59 minutes ends the match with a brace of goals and created a PK for Tours. Jonathan Amon got his 2nd start in Denmark and was credited with an assist. Jordan Siebatcheu had two assists for Reims. Travis Bowen scored a goal and had an assist in Macedonia, finally Aaron Schoenfeld scored the winning goal for M.Tel Aviv in Israel.

Mukwelle Akale, Kenny Saief, Royal Fennell and Matthew Olosunde all made appearances as they battle back to fitness.

My final shout out today is for GK Quentin Westberg, who had one of his now rare starts, and saved a PK late in Auxerre's Cup match, that gave a life-line into ET, and a win for his club

OK to the lists. First the short one.............

GOALS
Niall Mason - England (pk)

Kyrian Nwabueze - Slovenia

In France's Coupe de France, Maki Tall came off the bench at 59 minutes for Tours and caused absolute chaos in the Limoges defense, Scoring 2 Goals and creating a PK in the final 30 minutes, as Tours win 2 - 4 and advance to the next round. 1/32

Stefan Antonijevic made a cameo appearance in Lillestrom's 3 - 2 victory over Sarpsborg in Norway's 2017 NM Cup Final. Lillestrom finish the year with the Cup and a 12th place finish in Norway's Eliteserien

Another young up and coming American is doing well at Barcelona's Academy. Today 16 year old Konrad de la Fuente had 3 Assists in a 6 - 2 drubbing of Badalona in Spain's Juvenil B. If you follow at this level you will know that this is unusual as he is more likely to score than assist.

Kenny Saief remained on the bench in a tough match as Gent visited Waregem in Belgium's Jupiler League. (There were  9 yellows and a red card) Better to stay on the bench as he recovers from injury. Gent won the match 0 - 1 and move to 5th place on the table

November 26, 2017

WEEKLY WRAP: 11.20 thru 11.26.2017: Young Guns Still Out-Performing their Elders

Like the weather, cloudy week, with a few bright spots. Let's see, we had Terence Boyd score twice for Darmstadt, Jonathan Amon started and scored his first goal in Denmark, Julian Green back on the scoreboard and Matt Miazga heads home late in the Netherlands. Royal Fennell, who captained Hallescher until his injury, made the bench for the first time since the middle of August, and Kenny Saief got his first minutes after returning from injury, remember his last action was for the USMNT in July.

Most of the rest is kinda' blah. Players subbed in and out or not making their 18. We lost 3 teams in the Europa League, Hertha, Vitesse & M. Tel Aviv - but we did have some teams advance (or qualify) in the junior competitions, Tottenham U19, Ajax U19, Benfica B and PSG II all having a good week. It seems to be a trend that our young gun's are having more success than our senior players.

And then.....the much hyped Christian Pulisic/Dortmund vs Weston McKennie/Schalke match. I like both players, but the difference in quality between the two is quite apparent. Weston was ineffectual and replaced in the 1st half (hopefully his confidence will survive that) Christian was busy running around for the whole game and certainly had a hand in the first Dortmund goal. SO what did we learn? Weston is probably a season away from being a regular starter, he will get his chances and he must take them, for me USMNT remains a question mark. Christian is a starter and will continue to be, in one of the worlds best leagues and will also be the feature of USMNT for the next 5 years leading up to the WC. (nothing new here) But coaches need to recognize that Christian needs to be placed in the right position for him to truly benefit whatever team he is playing for. Finally - what a game!! I can't remember enjoying a match so much for many years - classic.

OK enough meandering, to the lists;

First the short list ..........

TUESDAY

GK Brandon Austin (90) for Tottenham U19 as they beat Dortmund U19 1 - 3 in the UEFA Youth League. Unfortunately, Brandon had a "Horvath Style" howler allowing Dortmund's goal in the first half - but he did settle down and have an OK match after that

Terence Boyd (86) Scored 2 Goals, but that was not enough as Darmstadt gave up a 90 +5 own goal and settled for a 3 - 3 draw at Union Berlin in Germany 2Liga. After what looked like a great pre-season Terence has only made the team 4 times (League) and 3 of those were as a sub, so excellent
showing on Terence's part today

Kenny Saief (15) played the last 15 minutes of Gent's game. This was Kenny's first minutes in the senior squad since May and his first appearance since the USA/Ghana match in July. Good to see him back from injury. Gent really didn't need him today as they easily won 3 - 1 over Mouscron in Belgium's Jupiler League. Gent has won 4 of their last 5 and risen to 6th place in the league

Jay Denny (90) as Newtown fall 3 - 0 at Aberystwyth in Wales Premier League. After an awful start Newtown fought their way off the bottom of the table, so today's loss is a bit of a set back for their revival (after winning 2 straight)

Kevin Olali (90) in Morlautern's 1 - 1 draw at home to FV Engers in Oberliga (Rheinland-Pfalz/Saar)

John Brooks (70) in Wolfsburg's 2 - 1 loss at Augsburg in Germany's Bundesliga (possible injury??)

Caleb Stanko gets 11 minutes for Freiburg as they win 2 - 1 at home over Mainz in Bundesliga

So the anticipated Christian Pulisic (90) v Weston McKennie (33 + yellow) in the biggest rivalry in German Football, was kind of a fizzle. Weston McKennie came off early, after the Schalke mid-field was over-run by Dortmund, and ineffectual. Christian was pretty active, and was involved in the set up of the first goal. Certainly a fun match to watch if you were not invested in either team, as Dortmund and Schalke play to a 4 - 4 draw in Bundesliga with Dortmund giving up an impressive 4 - 0 first half lead

Oh My! what a bad day in Newcastle. DeAndre Yedlin (90) scored an OG and Newcastle fall 0 - 3 to Watford. Newcastle has now lost their last 4 matches and slipped down to 13th place (just 4 points above the red zone). The numbers tell the tale for Newcastle, scored 1 goal given up 8 goals in this losing run

Lyndon Gooch remained on the bench as Sunderland win 0 - 2 at Burton in England's Championship. This was only Sunderland's 2nd win of the season and new coach Chris Coleman's first

Timothy Weah was an unused sub today as PSG II traveled to Schiltigheim and drew 1 - 1 in France National League 2 (Group B)

Juan Torres remained on the bench as (10 man) Lokoren traveled to St. Truiden in Belgium's Jupiler League and came away with a point in a goalless draw
