WEEKLY WRAP: 1.15 through 1.21.2018: Youth Movement Still Strong & 2 Multi-goal Performances

Time to Shout Out!!  Jordan Siebatcheu Brace in France, Andrija Novakovich Brace in Netherlands. Jonathan Amon 1 Goal 1 Assist in Denmark. 

Going through the week it seems that many of the senior players you expect to see, started on the bench, while the young guns are starting (?trend?) or maybe there are just that many more that we have identified? You will see when you read the long version, but some highlighted, Konrad de la Fuente at Barcelona Juvenil B, Emmanuel Sabbi in Denmark with Hobro,  Antonio Iacovelli in Italy and Haji Wright's younger brother Hanif Wright in Germany

Finally, Cameron Carter-Vickers & Gboly Ariyibi both returned from loans, and were immediately loaned out again, to Ipswich & Northampton respectively, and both debuted the next day with their new clubs.

(Missed this last Sunday) Konrad de la Fuente started and went 53' & Ben Lederman played the final 20 minutes as Barcelona Juvenil B traveled to Mollett and won 1 - 6 in Spain's Liga Nacional (Group 7)

GK Brandon Austin remained on the bench as Tottenham U23 hosted Everton U23 and lost 1 - 2 in England's EPL2 (Group 1) Tottenham U23 look doomed to drop to group 2 next season

Giles Phillips started for QPR U23 as they traveled to Ipswich and suffered a 3 - 0 defeat in England's PDL

Matthew Olosunde (90) as Manchester United U23 were thrashed 4 - 0 by Arsenal U23 in EPL2 (Group 1) Manchester United U23 could well find themselves relegated to Group 2 along with Tottenham U23

Aaron Schoenfeld remained on the bench as M.Tel Aviv traveled to M.Haifa and won 1 - 3 in Ligat ha'Al. M.Tel Aviv move into a tie for top spot (2nd on GD)

Kai Koreniuk (90) as Jong AZ are defeated at home 0 - 1 by Cambuur in Netherlands Eerste Divisie. Jong AZ continue their downward spiral, 19th place in the 20 team league

TUESDAY

GK Ethan Horvath was the backup keeper for Club Brugge as they trounced Charleroi 5 - 1 in the Belgium Cup (quarter-finals) and advance

In France Ligue 2, Auxerre with GK Quentin Westbrook on the bench, throttled visitor Niort 5 - 0

Also in Ligue 2, it was Reims with Jordan Siebatcheu (78) defeating Tours and Maki Tall (69) 1 - 0 in a top v bottom match-up. Reims look likely to be in Ligue 1 next season, Tours look to be in the obscurity of 3rd division French football

WEDNESDAY

Dion Acoff (62) as Valur traveled to Fram in a Reykjavik Cup match in Iceland and won 0 - 2

Emerson Hyndman entered at the 78th minute, but Bournemouth were already down 3 - 0, also the final score at Wigan in the FA Cup

Alfredo Morales (70) as Ingolstadt draw 1 - 1 at Union Berlin in a friendly in Germany

Chijioke Aranotu (90) as USD Scanzorosciate traveled to Milano City in Italy's Serie D (Group B) and came away with a point in a goalless draw. The draw has Scanzorosciate just 1 point from safety

Terence Boyd played the 1st half and McKinzie Gaines came off the bench at 71' as Darmstadt draw 2 - 2 with Furth and Julian Green, who played the 1st half and had the Assist on the games opening Goal

GK Paul Rachubka (90) as Kerala Blasters visited Jamshedpur in India's ISL and lost 2 - 1

THURSDAY

Kofi Twumasi entered the match at 70' as Romanian Ligue 1 club, FC Viitorul traveled to Swiss team Grasshoppers Zurich and played to a 1 - 1 draw in a friendly

FRIDAY

Junior Flores was in the Dortmund II squad that traveled to Hamburg II in a Friendly match that ended goalless (sorry no further info right now)

In a friendly in Denmark, Hobro with Emanuel Sabbi starting, managed a 2 - 2 draw at Midtjylland, minus GK Bill Hamid, who is with the USMNT

Kevin Lankford played the 2nd half of a friendly for Heidenheim as they beat Austria. Lustenau (2nd tier) 1 - 0

Jann George played the first half for Regensburg as they played a friendly with Austrian side FC Liefering (tier 2) winning 1 - 5

Brendan Hines-Ike started the 2nd half of an all Sweden Friendly between Orebro and Linkoping City - final 6 - 2 in favor of Orebro

Jordan Siebatcheu (90) Scored both of Reims Goals in a 0 - 2 win over Bourg Peronnas in France Ligue 2

GK Quentin Westberg was the backup keeper for Auxerre as they won 2 - 3 at Orleans in France Ligue 2

Andrija Novakovich (Subbed out at 90) Scored 2 Goals as Telstar hosted Eindhoven in The Netherlands Eerste Divisie - putting them in sole possession of 4th place

In Germany, Hertha, with Jonathan Klinsmann as the backup keeper battled to a 1 - 1 draw with Dortmund and Cristian Pulisic (85)

SATURDAY

GK Mike Lansing was the backup keeper for Denmark's Aalborg as they traveled to Sweden and face off with Goteborg, winning 1 - 3 in a friendly

Jonathan Amon played the first half for Nordsjælland as they exploded for 6 goals in their friendly against Lyngby in an all Danish friendly. Jonathan Scored a Goal and had an Assist, he also drew a penalty for his club - not a bad day at the office. Final 6 - 3 in favor of Nordsjælland

GK Danny Rogers was back keeper today as Aberdeen hosted St. Mirren in Scotland's FA Cup, winning with ease 4 - 1

In Germany 3 Liga, Royal Fennell (90) as Hallescher defeated Aalen 3 - 2 in a mid-table match-up

Marc Heider (90) and Osnabruck got pummeled 5 - 1 by 3rd place Wehen in Germany 3Liga

Caleb Stanko got a cameo minute at the end of Freiburg's 2 - 1 win over RB Leipzig in Bundesliga. Really good win for Freiburg against one of the teams vying for a Champions League spot

Timothy Chandler (86) continues his good season Scoring Frankfurt's 2nd & winning Goal as they traveled to Wolfsburg, winning this one 1 - 3. This was Timothy's first Bundesliga goal this season and the 3 points are like gold-dust at the top of Bundesliga, where only 4 points separate #2 from #9

Geoff Cameron off the bench at 71' as Stoke found themselves, and win 2 - 0 over Huddersfield who had Danny Williams left on the bench in England's Premier League

Antonee Robinson (90) and Bolton are held to a 1 - 1 draw at home by Cameron Carter-Vickers and his new team Ipswich in England's Championship

Fulham had a monster day at Craven Cottage hitting 6 goals past Burton in England's Championship. Tim Ream went 90 and Luca de la Torre came off the bench at 81

Lyndon Gooch got the final 5 minutes in for Sunderland as they defeat Hull 1 - 0 in the Championship

Eric Lichaj (90) and Nottingham Forest pulled off a 0 - 2 win at #1 Wolves. A great way to finally get a win

Gboly Ariyibi (18) got his first run out with his new team Northampton as they defeat Gboly's old team MK Don's 2 - 1 in League One. Northampton, who had been in a slump recently, have pulled themselves free of the drop zone, with 3 straight wins. as MK Don's slip into the relegation zone

Duane Holmes (90) as Scunthorpe drop 3 points at home in a 1 - 3 defeat by Gillingham. At this stage of the season a home loss to a 'lesser' team can be very damaging. Scunthorpe sit in 4th place, now 5 points away from the automatic promotion spot

Niall Mason (90 + yellow) helped Doncaster battle back from 2 goals down at #2 Shrewsbury to settle on a 2 - 2 draw in League One. 2 wins 3 draws for Doncaster in their last 5

2nd Place Nacional were just to strong for visitors Benfica B as they win 2 - 0 with Keaton Parks going the full 90 minutes in Portugal's Segunda Liga

In Italy, Antonio Iacovelli (90) as Cesena U19 traveled to Cittadella U19 and won 2 - 6 in Primavera 2 (Group A) With 4 straight wins and a draw in their last 5, Cesena U19 jump over Cittadella and move into the final Promotional Play-off spot

GK Brandon Austin (90) as Tottenham U18 visited Brighton U18 and had little difficulty winning 3 - 6 in the U18 Premier League (South)

Calum Stretch (90 + yellow) as Aston Villa U18 lose 2 - 3 at home to Swansea U18 in the U18 Premier League (South)

DeAndre Yedlin off the bench at 66' as Newcastle fall 3 - 1 at Manchester City in the English Premier League

Bobby Wood (also) off the bench at 66' as Hamburg fall 0 - 2 at home to FC Koln in Bundesliga. Both teams in trouble at the bottom of the Bundesliga

Matt Miazga (90) as Vitesse are held to a 1 - 1 draw at home by Hereenveen in Netherlands Eredivisie. Vitesse are clinging on to the final Europa League Play-off spot (7th)

Barcelona Juvenil B with Konrad de la Fuente entering in the 55th minute defeated CB Sabadell 3 - 1 and was credited with an Assist in Spain's Liga Nacional (Grupo 7)

I don't usually go this deep into the lower leagues in Germany but, Hanif Wright (90) played for Bonner SC in Kreispokal A-Junioren (loosely translated 'Circle Cup' ) and they won 0 - 6 against JSG Beuel. Hanif Scored the 4th Goal for Bonner SC. Hanif is Haji Wright's younger brother (talk says that Hanif will sign with Schalke as well)

SUNDAY

Ander Egiluz started today as Basconia were held to a goalless draw at home by Sestao River in Spain's Tercera (Group 4)

Shaq Moore went 90 as Levante B wins 2 - 0 over CD Bunol in Spain's Tercera (Group 6)

John Neeskens came off the bench at 54' and Scored Santboia' only Goal, forcing a draw at 1 - 1 against visitors Palamos CF in Spain's Tercera (Group 5)

Khai Celestin came off the bench at 57' as C.D.Sariñena were held to a 2 - 2 draw by Fraga in Spain's Tercera (Group 17)

Shane O'Neill remained on the bench as Excelsior visited Sparta Rotterdam in Eredivisie and won 2 - 3

Isaiah Young off the bench at 66' as Bremen II fall 0 - 1 at home to Würzburger Kickers in Germany 3Liga. Bremen II now bottom 3 and in red zone

Aron Jóhannsson remained on the bench as Bremen visited league leaders Bayern in Bundesliga and were beaten 4 - 2

Bad news for Weston McKennie, came off the bench at 63' and was subbed off at 83' with an apparent knee injury (not confirmed at writing) Schalke did manage to hold on for 1 - 1 draw with Hannover after they scored late in the game

Kenny Saief (90) as Anderlecht traveled to Genk and won 0 - 1 in Belgium's Jupiler. Anderlecht now on a run, 3 straight wins, and in 3rd place

Juan Torres remained on the bench as Lokoren fall 3 - 0 at Gent in Belgium Jupiler
