FRIDAY

Kyle Scott was an unused sub as Chelsea U23 fall 4 - 1 at cross town rivals Arsenal U23. Both teams on 25 points in Premier League 2 (Division 1)

Cesar Romero went 85 for Mosta as they were pummeled by league leaders Balzan 7 - 1 in their Malta Premier league match. Mosta look to be in great difficulty, 2nd from bottom and 6 points adrift, points are paramount in the coming weeks

Andrew Wooten (90) and Sandhausen lost their home game to Braunschweig 0 - 1. That's 3 straight loses for Sandhausen who are now out of the running for any chance of promotion from Germany's 2Liga this season.

Marc Heider went 80 and Robbie Kristo returned from injury and put in 10 minutes as Osnabruck fell 0 - 1 to Bremen II in Germany's 3Liga. Osnabruck has slipped to 3rd place after 3 consecutive loses, and are now only 1 point ahead of Hallescher for the play-off spot for promotion

Charlie Rugg went 90 as Pirmasens fell 1 - 0 at Waldorf in Germany's Regionalliga (Sudwest), which was not surprising seeing as they played with just 9 men (2 red cards)

GK Quentin Westberg was an unused sub in Tours goalless draw at home to Troyes in France Ligue 2

Theo Siebatcheu went 90 and Scored the winning goal as Chatearoux beat Avranches 2 - 1 in France's National League. This was Theo's 5th goal in 4 matches since joining on loan from Riems

Gedion Zelalem entered at 56 minutes as Venlo whooped Achilles 29 4 - 0 at home in their Eerste Divisie match in the Netherlands. Venlo are now 8 points clear at the top and it looks pretty good for them getting the automatic promotion at this time

GK Ethan Horvath was the backup keeper again today as Club Brugge beat up on Waregem 5 - 0 in Belgium's Jupiler League. The win gives them a small cushion between themselves and Anderlecht who are 3 points back and have an extra game in hand

I guess the ice is melting, as Aron (Iceman) Johannsson was a bench warmer again today and watched his team Bremen win a surprising 1 - 2 victory over Wolfsburg in Bundesliga.

Not a good start for GK Ciaran Nugent and Galway, as they lose at home 0 - 1 to Drogheda in the Ireland Premier League opener. Early days....fingers crossed for Ciaran

Emerson Hyndman went 90 as Rangers traveled to Inverness and fell 2 - 1 in Scotland's Premier League. 3 Loses a Draw and a Win in their last 5 matches has really hurt any chance of 2nd place (Celtic are so far ahead they cannot be caught) Aberdeen have a game in hand and are already 6 points ahead of Rangers who have lost their mojo in a big way, since losing Warburton

SATURDAY

Japan's J-League (top tier) kicked-off their season today, and GK Daniel Schmidt was backup for his team Vegalya Sendai, as they opened at home against Sapporo, winning 1 - 0. Daniel, who was on loan to Yamaga in J2 last season, will probably spend most of the season on the bench, battling for a starting position, which will be very different from last season's stellar performance.

Isaiah Young came off the bench after 17 minutes for Bremen U19 as they came back from a 2 goal deficit to draw 2 - 2 with Dresden U19, in Junior Bundesliga (Nord/Nordost)

Timothy Tillman (90) and Bayern U19 dispatched Kaiserslautern U19, Corey Anton (90) and Kevin Coleman (3) in a 3 goal 2nd half, to win 3 - 0 in Germany's Junior Bundesliga (Süd/Südwest)

In the big game in Germany's Junior Bundesliga (West) #1 Schalke U19 with Haji Wright (90) and Weston McKennie (90 + yellow) and debutee Nick Taitague (62) traveled to #2 Dortmund U19 falling 2 - 0. Schalke retain their top spot despite the loss. With the addition of Nick Taitague, Schalke U19 now have a talented trio of young Americans.

Omar Castro (20) came off the bench to help Braunschweig II win their home match 3 - 1  over Eischede in Regionalliga (Nord)

Jerome Kiesewetter was an unused sub in Dusseldorf's goalless draw at home with Heidenheim in Germany 2Liga

Jann George (84 +yellow) as Regensburg traveled to Aalen in Germany's 3Liga and won 1 - 2. Regensberg now in 3rd place (Promotion Play-off)

Shawn Barry (90) for FSV Frankfurt in a goalless draw at home with Rostock in 3Liga as they continue their dismal form

Big changes at Sonnenhof as GK David Yelldell is back on the bench, and Sonnenhof start Mario Rodrigues (86) and Joe Gyau (71) up front as they travel to Hallescher and Royal Fennel (90) and win 0 - 1, putting an end to their poor patch of form. Alternatively, Hallescher are struggling right now, and with 2 loses and 2 draws in their last 5, have slipped to 5th place in 3Liga

McKinzie Gaines (90) Scored Wolfsburg U19 3rd Goal in a 4 - 1 drubbing of JFV Nordwest U19 in Germany's Junior Bundesliga (Nord/Nordost) That's 7 goals this season for McKinzie, with 3 of them coming against JFV. Wolfsburg U19 lead the league

GK Josh Wicks (90) gets the start and the Shut-Out as Sirius best Ljungskile 2 - 0 in Sweden's Svenska Cup (Group 3) Sirius now lead the group

In Sweden Svenska Cup (Group 4) Ryan Finley and Varnamo traveled to Falkenbergs and came away with a 1 - 1 draw against the group leaders

Branden Hines-Ike and Orebro visited BKV Norrtalje and thumped the small team 0 - 5 in Sweden Svenska Cup (Group 8). Only the top 8 teams (Group winners) go on to the next round, Orebro are sitting in 2nd in their group and will host leaders Hacken next weekend in a winner takes all

Bobby Wood was probably glad to be on the bench and not be associated with the absolute drubbing that Bayern laid on Hamburg today. If it looked like Hamburg may have hit a good stretch recently, facing Bundesliga leaders Bayern was a wake up. Final: Bayern 8 - 0 Hamburg

Terence Boyd played the 2nd half as Darmstadt fell 1 - 2 at home to Augsburg in Bundesliga
*NOTE: Some outlets have Terence with a Assist on Darmstadt's goal - unconfirmed as yet

Christian Pulisic managed 8 minutes for Dortmund as they traveled to Freiburg who they clinically took apart 0 - 3 cementing their 3rd place spot in Bundesliga

GK Steve Clark (90) Conor O'Brien (90) and Horsens drew 1 - 1 with Odense in Denmark's Superliga. Horsens face run-away league leaders FC Copenhagen next. Steve Clark was awarded Man of the Match

GK Brad Guzan back on the bench today for Middlesbrough as they visited Crystal Palace and lost 1 - 0 in England's Premier League

Lynden Gooch was on the bench today for Sunderland, as they fall 2 - 0 at Everton. Good to see Lynden back in the 18

The steady Tim Ream went 90 for Fulham as they visited Cardiff in the English Championship and drew 2 - 2. Fulham needed the win to stay im the hunt for the 6th and final promotional play-off spot, but fell a little short, they are 5 points off the pace but have a game in hand

Things did not look to good for DeAndre Yedlin (90) and Newcastle as they went into the half down 0 - 2 to Bristol City, but the league leaders fought back in a match that ended 2 - 2. Newcastle hold the #1 spot but Brighton are only 2 points behind and have an extra game to play in a tight race at the top of the English Championship

Eric Lichaj (90) and Nottingham traveled to relegation troubled Wigan and managed a goalless draw, which, breaks their losing streak at 3 games

Duane Holmes went 90 as Scunthorpe had to rely on an OG to get out of Bristol Rovers with a 1 - 1 draw in England's League One. Scunthorpe has slipped from run-away leaders to tied 2nd (on GD) after 3 draws and 2 loses in their last 5.

GK Brendan Moore (90) and Torquay succumbed to an 80th minute goal in a back and forth 2 - 3 loss to Sutton in England's National League. Torquay are hanging on above the drop zone and need a win or two to keep their heads above water

Hearts went without their American's as they look for a turn around of fortune in Scotland Premier League. Perry Kitchen was an unused sub, and Bjorn Johnsen (Hamstring) did not make today's squad. The plan did not work, as Hearts fall 2 - 0 at Partick and remain in 4th place

GK Danny Rogers (90) and Falkirk held on for a 2 - 2 draw with Dumbarton in Scotland's Championship. #3 Falkirk has not lost a match in their last 5, and look good for a promotional play-off spot

Kevin Dzierzawski got some mud on his boots running on the pitch at the 90th minute, as Peterhead were held 1 - 1 at home by East Fife in Scotland's League One

Will Daniels can't stop scoring. Today Will Scored the opening goal for Grindavik as they traveled to Breidablik in the Iceland League Cup and earned a 1 - 1 draw in Group 4, where they now lead the group

Kristian Scott made the first team for Nuneaton, following his deal approval (yesterday). Kris who was a favorite with Nuneaton was released and joined league leaders Fylde, before being brought back to his old club. He was an unused sub as visitors Nuneaton scored 3 goals in a 1 - 3 win over Boston, for Nuneaton's first win in 5 try's in England's National League (North)

In Bundesliga's late match. John Brooks (90 + yellow) and Hertha got the better of Timothy Chandler ((90) and Frankfurt 2 - 0 as the teams swap league places 5 & 6.

Brighton are really stamping their place in the Championship as they beat Reading and Danny Williams (90) 3 - 0 to take the lead of the Championship by 1 point over Newcastle - the promotion race looks to come down to the wire. Reading are still in the mix, at 5th, despite losing their last 2 games, and currently look good to play for that 3rd promotion spot in the play-offs

Ismar Tandir came off the Bench at 65 minutes as Sloboda Tuzla visited Mladost Doboj in Bosnia Premier League and lost 3 - 1

GK Kenneth Kronholm (90) and Kiel traveled to cellar dwelling Zwickau in Germany 3Liga losing this one 1 - 0. A loss that is most costly in a tight race for the third promotional spot (a win would have put them tied 3rd with 2 other teams)

GK Matt Pyzdrowski (90) as Helsingborg fall short in their come-back against Degefors, in Svenska Cup (Group 6) in Sweden 2 - 3. With 2 loses they are bottom and will not progress to next round
