WEEKDAY WRAP: Monday May 1st Action

This time of year the action isn't limited to the weekend's - today we had our US goalkeepers dominate our players, with Matt Pyzdrowski getting a clean sheet and Ciaran Nugent and Josh Wicks finding themselves in battles to help their clubs. Good to see Chad Barson get 90 for his new team.
All the action below.......

Brendan Hines-Ike went 90, picked up a yellow card in Orebro's 2 - 1 loss at Malmo in Sweden's Allsvenskan

Kyle Knotek (90), Chad Barson (90) in Linköping City 1 - 3 away win at Huddinge IF in Sweden's Division 2 (Sodra Svealand) Linköping City move into 2nd place

GK Ciaran Nugent (90) and Galway traveled to Sligo Rovers in the Irish League Cup and won a thrilling 2 - 3 match on PK's to advance into the Semi-Finals

GK Matt Pyzdrowski (90) joined the other US goalkeepers who excelled over the weekend getting the Shut Out for Helsingborg as they trashed Degefors 3 - 0 in Sweden's Superettan. Helsingborg have not lost in this young season.

Kyle Gurrieri was in the 18 for Nordvärmland as they fall 0 - 2 at home to FBK Karlstad in Sweden's Division 2 (Norra Gotaland) - info is a little hard to come by on this one, not sure if Kyle played

GK Josh Wicks (90) and Sirius had to battle for a point at home to Jonkopings in Sweden's Allsvenskan in a game that ended 1 - 1. Sirius, in their first season in the top tier, are sitting in 2nd place (behind Malmo who won over Orebro today)

GK Ethan Horvath was the backup keeper for Club Brugge as they won 2 - 1 over Waregem in Belgium's Jupiler League (Championship Group). That's 2 straight wins for Club Brugge and they move into 2nd place (a possible UCL qualification spot)

Rubio Rubin made it off the bench in minute 71, but by then the damage was done as Silkeborg fall 0 - 2 at home to Aarhus in Denmark's Superliga (Relegation Group). Despite 2 straight losses, Silkeborg are still in 2nd place, but now just 1 point ahead of today's opponent Aarhus, and worryingly next up is a trip to leaders Aalborg.

With the line-ups announced, Will Daniels will start on the bench for Grindavik in their Pepsidelid opener in Iceland, as they host Stjarman. I will update this match later - it is the last game today involving a US Player. Will came off the bench at the 36th minute, replacing an injured team-mate. Grindavik scored shortly after taking a 2 - 1 lead at the half, but failed the extend that, and gave up a goal - the match ended as a draw 2 - 2.
