WEEKEND WRAP: Saturday 4/2/2016 - Features Debut's, Goals and Cards

Happy Saturday, very busy day for our US Players across the pond. 5 Goals, a Red Card, 2 debuts and high drama. Matt Miazga finally gets his debut at Chelsea as they pummeled Aston Villa, ex NE Revolution, Jossimar Sanchez debuts for Narpes in Finland and gets his first professional goal - Eric Lichaj saw 2 yellows in a space of 5 minutes and gets sent off for Nottingham. Finally Christian Pulisic comes off the bench and wins a corner that leads to Dortmund's late winning goal.....

Lets get to the list;

Bryan de la Fuentes started, went 90, and Scored Ararat's only goal as they draw 1 - 1 with Shirak in the Armenian Premier League.

Jossimar Sanchez, started, went 90, and Scored Narpes only goal, as they fell 2 - 1 at Jazz in the Finland Suomen Cup. This was Jossimar's debut for Narpes, having spent last season at Nykopings.

Brian Span, started and went 90 as Mariehamn visited HJK in Finland Veikkausliiga. Mariehamn take a 2 - 0 loss on Finland's opening day.

In Germany Regionalliga Nord, Omar Castro went 73 minutes for Braunschweig II as they lost 2 - 1 at Hamburg II

In Regionalliga West, Justin Kinjo went 61 minutes in Dusseldorf II 1 - 1 draw with Viktoria Koln

Also in Regionalliga West, Junior Flores came off the bench at the 87th minute in Dortmund II big win at Rodinghausen. Final Rodinghausen 1 - 5 Dortmund II

In Regionalliga Sudwest, Russel Canouse went 45 minutes in Hoffenheim II 4 - 1 win over Saarbrucken

In Scotland's Premier Division, Perry Kitchen and Hearts entered the lions den of Celtic and like many before them lost 3 - 1. Perry went the 90 and picked up a yellow. The loss did not change Hearts position (3rd) in the Premiership

Its not unusual to find GK Brad Guzan on the end of a thumping at Aston Villa, today was no exception, as Chelsea and Matt Miazga, making his starting debut, came to Villa Park and grabbed all 3 points beating Villa 0 - 4. Matt went the full 90, and steered clear of any card

Devante Parker started, but only lasted 57 minutes as Mainz II visited Chemnitzer in Germany 3Liga. Chemnitzer put 5 past Mainz II who lost 5 - 1

Also in 3Liga, Mark Heider, started and went 73 minutes as Kiel drew 1 - 1 at home, with Wehen.

Royal-Dominique Fennell started for Wurzburger as they visited Osnabruck, went the full 90 minutes and Scored for Wurzburger as they battle for a 1 - 1 draw.

In Germany Regionalliga Sudwest, ex LA Galaxy, Charlie Rugg came off the bench at minute 59, and Scored the winning goal (74) for Trier as they welcomed Bahlinger and Ryan Gaul (90) to town and beat them 1 - 0

In Regionalliga Bayern, Julian Ceesay played the first half for Amberg as they visited Illertissen and came away with a 3 - 0 loss.

DeAndre Yedlin started and went 90 minutes in Sunderland's 0 - 0 draw with West Bromwich in the EPL. Sunderland have now drawn 4 of the last 5 games, and will be hard pressed to avoid the drop.

In the English Championship, Bolton and GK Paul Rachubka, hosted Reading and Danny Williams. The hapless Bolton demoted Paul to the bench (DNP) and Reading started Danny Williams, who went the 90 minutes, as Reading won this one 0 - 1. Bolton are 9 points adrift at the bottom of the league, (12 points from safety) and I think its safe to say will be in League One next season.

Tim Ream started for Fulham as they hosted Cody Cropper and MK Don's. Fulham won this one 2 - 1, with Tim putting in 90 minutes for Fulham, and Cody the same (90) for MK Don's. (Emerson Hyndman was not in Fulham's 18)

Nottingham Forest and Eric Lichaj season just keeps getting worse, with only 4 points from the last 5 games they have dropped out of any contention for post season play. Today could not have been worse losing 0 - 3 at home to Brentford and having Eric (RED) sent off on 2 yellows (within a 5 minute period)

In League One, Chesterfield, playing at home, found themselves down 0 - 1 at the half. Gboly Ariyibi came off the bench to play the 2nd half and inspired Chesterfield to a 4 - 2 win over Port Vale. Gboly Scored Chesterfields 3rd (and eventual winning) goal - his first of the season. Today's win lifted Chesterfield 5 points clear of the drop.

Zak Whitbread found himself on the wrong end of a drubbing as League One leaders Wigan visited Shrewsbury and came away 1 - 5 winners. Zak went 90 for Shrewsbury who now find themselves only 5 points clear from the relegation zone.

GK Alek Gogic is still waiting for his opportunity as he remained on the bench for Fleetwood as they played Swindon to a 1 - 1 draw.

Kristian Scott was an unused sub for Nuneaton as they were held to a goalless draw by  Telford

Kevin Dzierzawski was on the bench (DNP) as Peterhead fell 2 - 0 at Forfar in the Scottish League One. Peterhead maintain their 2nd spot in the table and should see post season play with a chance of promotion)

Robby Kristo went 90 today for Tuttocuoio as they visited Santarcangelo in Italy Liga Pro (Group B) Robby picked up a yellow card and Tuttocuoio fell 4 - 1

Nermin Crnkic started and went 68 minutes in Slovan Bratislava's 0 - 2 win at Streda in Slovakia's Fortuna Liga.

Rubio Rubin, fresh off an injury, in the 18(DNP) for Utrecht as they draw 1 - 1 at Heracles in the Netherlands

See you all tomorrow for more action across the pond
