DAILY WRAP: 4/5/2016 - English Championship Features

So there was enough action going on across the pond to create a Daily Wrap today. We had another goal from Charlie Rugg in Germany, an OG in the Championship, as well as some (possible) good news for 2 US Players. Cody Cropper found out today that he will be the starting Goalkeeper for the rest of the season for MK Don's ( their #1 is injured) great opportunity to shine. From London, Arsenal reportedly have high hopes for Gedion Zelalem. English newspaper  The Daily Telegraph is reporting that Zelalem will be given the chance to earn a spot on the Arsenal first team this summer. Lets hope that Arsenal will be doing and not just saying - unlike Rangers Mark Warburton who says and doesn't do.

Lets get to the list

Charlie Rugg can't stop scoring, today, the super sub, came off the bench at 54 minutes and scored at minute 84. His team, Trier, unfortunately lost 1 - 2 despite Charlies efforts, at home to Hoffenheim II

Nermin Crnkic came off the bench (43) as Slovan Bratislava drew 0 - 0 with Zilna in Slovakia's Slovak Cup Semi-Final (first leg) Nermin has been getting some playing time, which is always good, with his new team.

Jonathan Spector started and weny 90 minutes, as Birmingham hosted third place Brighton. Although Bormingham took the early lead, Brighton came back and won 1 - 2

GK Paul Rachubka, sat on the bench and watch Bolton fall 3 - 1 at Brentford in the English Championship

GK Cody Cropper, who found out earlier today he would be MK Don's starting goalkeeper for the rest of the season, started went 90 in a 1 - 2 loss to Wolves. MK Don's had the lead at half time on a Wolves OG, but could not hold on

Tim Ream only played the first half of Fulham's match as they visited Preston. But that was enough for him to be credited on Assist for Fulham's first goal.  Fulham beat 10th place Preston 1 - 2 - putting them 7 points clear of the drop zone with 7 points in the last 3 games. Report of why Ream left the game early - Injury (precautionary).

Oh Dear! An OG by Adam Henley gifted a 2 - 1 win for Sheffield Wednesday over Blackburn. Adam did start and went 90.

GK Alek Gogic was in the 18, (DNP) for Fleetwood in their 2 - 0 win over Peterborough in England League One

In Vanarama National League, Grimsby traveled to Aldershot, Jon-Paul Pittman was in the 18 (DNP) as Grimsby fought back in the 2nd half from 2 goals down, to win 3 - 4.

Also in Vanarama National League, GK Brendan Moore posted another shut-out as Torquay beat Chester 2 - 0. It should be noted that Torquay have won 3 of their last 5, since Brendan joined the team and have climbed from 23rd (2nd from bottom) to 18th (they are not quite safe yet, but close)

In Scotland's Championship, the Rangers coach continues to praise Gedion Zelalem, and then not play him. Gedion was in the 18 for today's game. In a statement this AM, Arsenal announced it's intention to push Gedion towards first team play for Arsenal (over the summer) in anticipation of next season. Oh, Rangers won 1 - 0 over Dumbarton  **Rangers secured promotion to the Scottish Premier next year.**

Great Game for Reading as they overcame a first half deficit, to win 2 - 1 over Nottingham (missing Eric Lichaj suspended/Red Card). Danny Williams started and went 90 minutes in the victory.
