WEEKLY WRAP: 8.7 thru 8.13.2017: 22 goals 5 Shut Outs - Busy Busy Busy!!

OK this is the busiest day so far this year (not season!) My apologies for such a long wrap up - but that reflects the # of matches this week.

So, I will use that as a reason for just a short opening couple of paragraphs. Of Note... Duane Holmes played twice for Scunthorpe and score in both games - remarkably both regulation goals tied the game for his team, and in the cup match he provided the final PK to win - can you say break-out? Marc Heider, back from suspension, had 2 goals in 2 matches for Osnabruck, 1 was the winning goal. Mukwelle Akale scored the winner in a friendly in Spain, and unexpectedly, Danny Barbir showed up at Stoke (U23) and scored. There is just to many goals to feature this week, so read on below.

Goalkeepers had their moments to....especially Daniel Schmidt in Japan, where he had 2 Clean Sheets in 2 matches in 1 week. Alex Horwath kept it clean in Norway and in Sweden two of the best in their leagues, Jeff Gal and Josh Wicks are both pushing their teams towards great things

There was only 1 assist this week, well as far as I could see, but that came from Keaton Parks in Portugal. Keaton moved to Benfica a few weeks ago has played in both of the seasons matches so far and now has an assist on the tying goal today

One more thing...its a bit of a rant, from my perspective, as someone who follows our players overthere! There are some leagues*** that do a fantastic job of providing information on their leagues, teams and the players (Iceland, Sweden, Finland come to mind) and there are others that don't do such a good job (Australia, New Zealand, most Eastern European Leagues) so when you see scant information or none on a player that you follow, please understand that with some leagues the only info is who scored (not who played) If you have information that you are not seeing (play time/assists/bench etc.) please let us know, we will publish, and we will credit you with the info.
*** The worlds major leagues (EPL, Bundesliga, La Liga etc) provide excellent information..if a player in one of these leagues has an exceptional day we will certainly mention it, but as so many other bloggers follow these top line players and teams we tend to just 'mention' and not spend time, which we prefer to give over to players who are trying to be successful and make their mark on the game.
